The recently released emails from top government officials, private business leaders (the billionaire type) and even the occasional celebrity can tell us a lot about Power, Status and Influence. I talk you through a strand of the emails released from Dr. Anthony’s Fauci’s office. This is look at tone, punctuation, sentence structure, and rhetoric. Zuckerberg’s emails seem deferential, but knowing they were surely vetted by a team of lawyers working under the pressure of a looming pandemic, it is a fascinating look at Communication during a crisis. The same is true for all of the communicators in these emails. They were all operating under intense pressure.
